Mercy Hospital for Women is currently trialling an Australian developed live video streaming technology that gives parents and families of special needs babies round-the-clock access to their newborns in the Special Care Nursery.

Now in its second phase of testing at Mercy Hospital for Women, the Look@MyBaby system has been praised by parents who believe the live video helps with sibling bonding, eliminates the need for one or both parents to be physically present in the nursery at all times, and helps placate the many well-wishers wanting to visit the baby. 

Parents are given a private and unique password to view the video on mobile phones and computers. They can then control who is able to access the video by only sharing the password with designated family members and friends – locally and around the world.

Parents register and pay for Look@MyBaby as a subscription service during their stay at Mercy Hospital for Women. Friends and family can view live video of the baby free of charge. No special equipment, software or technical understanding is required.
