TRAVEL ASSISTANCE: Country patients may be eligible for travel and accommodation reimbursement under various assistance schemes.

• VPTAS – Victoria Patient Transport Assistance Scheme (Vic): Freecall 1300 737 073
• The VPTAS Scheme provides partial reimbursement to assist rural and remote Victorians with travel and accommodation costs incurred when travelling more than 100 kilometres (one way) for specialist medical treatment. To be eligible you must reside in a Victorian Department of Human Services rural region.
• Application forms can be collected from the Social Work Department on Level 3 of the hospital: Phone 03 8458 4149

• IPTAAS – Isolated Patient’s Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (NSW): Freecall 1800 800 511

RYDER CHESHIRE 10-14 Donaldson St, Ivanhoe Ph: 03 9254 2400 Fax: 03 9254 2499	43 units with bedroom/kitchen facilities. Five of these are family units with own phone and ensuite. Linen provided. No meals provided. Short drive to hospital or walk to Ivanhoe train station or alternatively you can catch shuttle bus from Austin Repat to Mercy.	$38.50 per person per night. Stay will be fully reimbursed if VPTAS eligible. $20.00 per person per night if not VPTAS eligible No children allowed on weekdays, but can be negotiated on weekends. Will require Social work referral if VPTAS eligible or if on a weekend please inform staff at Ryder that you are VPTAS eligible.

LIONS HOUSE Heidelberg Please contact Social Work Dept. 03 8458 4149	Shared facilities. Preference given to families where a mother or baby is an inpatient	$38.50 if VPTAS eligible and no payment required up front.

PAT & NOEL GRIFFITH Rear 36 Wallis Avenue, East Ivanhoe Ph: 03 9499 1304	Ground floor self contained family unit. 2 extra single rooms upstairs. Shared facilities. Linen provided. Short drive to Mercy Hospital or public transport.	$60.00 per unit per night for ground floor unit for short stays. $50.00 per person per night for ground floor unit for stays over 5 nights. Unit is self contained and has 2 single beds and a sofa bed. Cot available on request. 2 extra single rooms upstairs available for an extra $25.00 per night each. Requires payment upfront.

AUSTIN RISE 5 Quinn St, Heidelberg VIC 3084 Home 03 94550740 Mb 0401 989336	We have opened a lovely Bed and Breakfast walking distance from the Austin Hospital. We have 3 rooms each with its own ensuite and can accommodate 5 people at any one time. Please see our website www.austinrise.com for directions – we are parallel to Rosanna Road, just off Brown Street, Heidelberg.	Streeton Room is $170 a night B&B, Roberts and Withers Room is $150 a night B&B ... Reduced rates for longer stays and self catering. We are very flexible with breakfast times, dietary requests and dropping guests off at the Hospital if and when requested.

Same train line as Heidelberg train station.	For friends and relatives of hospital patients. $33 per night for 1st person. Then $20 per person per night thereafter if VPTAS eligible. If not VPTAS eligible $20 per night per person. Will require payment upfront.

Rydges Hotel Bell City is located in Melbourne's inner north, less than 10 minutes from Mercy Hospital, just 20 minutes from the CBD, and 15 minutes from the airport.
