Breastfeeding Week 2016


From 1 – 7 August Mercy Health will be celebrating World Breastfeeding Week. The theme for 2016 is 'Breastfeeding: a key to sustainable development' and asks us to reflect on how breastfeeding is a key element in getting us to think about how to value our wellbeing from the start of life, how to respect each other and care for the world we share.

At Mercy Health we recognise the importance of breastfeeding for both mother and baby and we are committed to accommodating and supporting employees balance breastfeeding and work responsibilities.  In line with this commitment Mercy Health is an accredited Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace (BFW) by the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA).  The BFW accreditation recognises the policies and supports in place that assist women who return to work and continue to breastfeed.
