Mercy Health National Human Resources Manager Residential Aged Care Sandra Cinar will speak at a national conference later this week. Sandra will be one of a list of industry names to address the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency Better Practice conference in Brisbane on 18 and 19 September 2014.
Sandra's presentation, Identifying and Developing Internal Talent, will focus on sharing case studies and outlining initiatives such as the Grow our Own Traineeship and Middle Manager's programs, which have helped develop the next generation of aged care workers and leaders.
She will also be part of a three-person panel – made up of Wesley Mission Brisbane Director of Nursing Silvia Holl and Feros Care CEO Jennene Buckley – to talk under the theme of Changing Course.
Sandra said one of the major challenges facing organisations today was the impact of an increasingly ageing population, which she believe is likely to generate more demand for services in a sector that is already coping with workforce shortages.
"In order to remain sustainable, it is important that organisations begin to invest in the ongoing support and development of their people," Sandra said. "I'm looking forward to discussing issues and practical strategies with other leading minds across the industry."
