Meet our team: Andi Rigopoulos
Who are you?
My name is Andi Rigopoulos, I was born in Australia and my family is from Cyprus. My son Emmanuel is 19 years old and my daughter Anna is 24 and getting married in June this year and I am very excited about the wedding! I love to sew, sing and read true crime books!
What is your role?
I am senior Care Coordinator at Mercy Home & Community Care – Southern Office.
What does your role entail?
My role entails providing superior customer service to all Case Managers and allocating our fantastic Mercy carers to care for clients living in their own homes for as safe and as long as possible.
How long have you been in this role?
Why is your role important to you?
My role is important to me because it is about people and their health and their wellbeing. It is about making the clients feel safe in their homes for as long as possible. It is about allocating carers that are consistent to our clients’ needs. When I receive feedback from the Case Mangers advising me that their client is happy with the carer I allocated, it is music to my ears, and that is my reward!
My father passed away about four years ago at the age of 85, and every time I make a client happy it is as if I am making my loving dad happy. That is why I love my job so much!
Why is your role important to Mercy Health?
My role is important to Mercy Health because I ensure that I promote Mercy’s values to all our Customers to keep Mercy Home & Community Care on the map. I make certain I establish an open, honest and trusting relationship with the Case Managers. I always provide feedback from the carers to the Case Managers, no matter how trivial it may seem. This is what makes Mercy Home & Community Care a preferred provider and sets us apart from the rest!
What is your background?
I worked at ANZ for 20 years. For 14 of those 20 years I was a Team Leader, leading a team of 15 members to process cheques in a high volume processing centre. I was happy to receive a redundancy package and successful in winning the coordinator role at Family Touch before Mercy took over. I had many skills that I was able to transfer to my role as Care Coordinator.
