The Community Care Units (CCU) provide longer term recovery and treatment services for consumers who require psychosocial rehabilitation.

The CCU is made up of small houses, some of which are shared and some individual, set in tranquil gardens near the Werribee River.

This residential based, recovery and rehabilitation service caters for up to 20 people. It is staffed 24 hours a day by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and medical staff.


 Individuals who need psychosocial rehabilitation are provided with strategies and holistic interventions to support their wellbeing.

This includes:

* education regarding mental illness, treatment options, and managememt of medication including side effects

* basic life skills training

* health and fitness, diet, sleep and exercises

* drug and alcohol management

* lifestyle programs

* financial counselling

* community integration and involvement with self-help or chronic illness support groups

Visitors' information

Families and carers are encouraged to participate in an individual's recovery process. Information on health management, treatment progress, medications and associated side effects can be made available. Families and carers are encouraged to visit, and week leave is available.
