• Our maternity care is provided collaboratively, where midwives and doctors work closely together so the best and most appropriate care is given.

We offer different models of maternity care to suit individual preferences and level of specialist care required. This includes maternity care by obstetric doctors, clinic midwives or by the individual unit’s team midwives. You can choose a shared care model if your GP is accredited with Mercy Hospital for Women.

There are also two satellite clinics that provide care to women in the community. Care is given by consultant obstetricians and midwives. The Yarra and Plenty team midwives offer an evening clinic at the Well Women’s Clinic at Mercy Hospital for Women.

At Werribee Mercy Hospital, you can see an obstetrician for all your antenatal visits. If you choose this option you will need to make an appointment with a midwife at the hospital.
