Lymphoedema 'At Risk' Information Sessions

  • Mercy Health Lymphoedema Clinic provides information sessions to people at risk of developing lymphoedema.
  •
People who have had lymph nodes removed from the armpit, the groin or the neck may be at risk of developing lymphoedema and this risk continues throughout their lifetime. The overall risk of developing lymphoedema following removal of nodes is approximately 20 per cent.
  •
Information sessions provide accurate and up to date advice and covers topics such as:
    • The lymphatic system
    • Skin care
    • Limb care
    • Exercise
    • Travel tips
  •
It is important to know how to minimise the risk and recognise symptoms and be aware of where to seek advice if symptoms arise.
  •
Sessions are held on a regular basis at East Melbourne and Heidelberg. No referral is required to attend the At Risk sessions but booking is essential.

    Call East Melbourne 03 8458 4990
    Call Heidelberg 03 8458 4949
  •
The sessions are presented by a qualified lymphoedema practitioner and a social worker. Click here for details of information sessions.
