• Information for your hospital stay

  • Our antenatal and postnatal units provide a range of services to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

  • To promote bonding and to help establish feeding, your baby will stay in your care during all of your hospital stay. We call this rooming-in. We are here to support you in your transition to parenthood, please discuss any queries or concerns with your midwife.

    You will need to provide all of your own nappies, wipes, baby clothes and wraps. If you are not planning on breastfeeding or think that you may do a combination of feeding types, please provide all your own bottles and formula.

    Discharge time is 10am, please arrange for your partner/family to be at the hospital by 9am.

  • Listed below are just some of the services available to you while in our care:

    Television and Phone: Your bedside phone will receive incoming calls. To make outgoing calls you will need to purchase a phone card from the cashier’s desk on the first floor. To connect your bedside television please go the cashier’s desk on the first floor. The cost of this is $5.50 per day.

    Patient Areas: Level 5 has two lounge areas where you are welcome to spend time. There is a Television and books to read. There are two ‘beverage bays’ (kitchenettes) available for you and your partner only to make tea, coffee or utilise the microwave for heating. We have a ‘flower room’ with vases to borrow for your convenience. Patient room toilets are for ‘patient use only’. There are public toilets available for your visitors, please ask staff for their location.

    Laundry: We have a laundry that is available to do your washing. Please ask your midwife. Washing machine, dryer and detergent are available.
                                   
    Car Parking: If your stay in hospital extends past 14 days, you will be eligible for a daily Car Parking voucher. This will be explained to you once you are eligible to receive it.
                                   
    Interpreters: A free and confidential interpreter service is available, 24 hours 7 days a week. Ask the staff to arrange an interpreter for you.

    Parent Education: The Parent Education staff offer a range of services to antenatal patients including classes, refresher courses, individual consultations, videos, grandparent and multiple pregnancy education sessions, and other resources. Parent education is available in Chinese and Vietnamese and a young mother’s class is offered. They can be contacted on extension 4152. 

  • Dietician: Our dieticians can advise you on general healthy eating in pregnancy and if you have any special requirements.
