5 steps to choosing your new aged care home

The aged care system is complex and can be challenging, particularly if you are in need of immediate support. We suggest families begin the journey early, finding out options in time to make informed decisions. Mercy Health can assist with advice and support at every step along the way.

  1. 1. Start by determining if you are eligible for a government subsidy

  2. 2. Finding a new home

  3. 3. Working out the costs

  4. 4. Applying for the home you want

  5. 5. Moving into your new home

The Australian Government sets various fees to contribute to your care. For more information please visit MyAgedCare.gov.au

Mercy Health quotes the maximum value of RAD or DAP that can be accepted for rooms in our homes.

Mercy Health will continue to provide care and accommodation to all people, regardless of their financial situation.

  • Our Managers can explain the payment types, however, we recommend that you engage the services of a financial advisor to support your financial decision making as you move into residential aged care.
