The Mercy Hospital for Women

The Mercy Hospital for Women has a long tradition of private obstetrician    care.  Private obstetrician care is an option to women with private health insurance with obstetric cover, or for women willing to pay for a private admission for the birth of their baby.

In this model, women see a private obstetrician accredited with the Mercy Hospital for Women for all of their appointments leading up to the birth.  When they attend the hospital birthing suite or emergency department, their private obstetrician is responsible for their care.

Specialist Care

In addition to excellent continuity of care from a specialist obstetrician, private patients delivering at the Mercy Hospital for Women have the backing of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which can cater for babies born from 24 weeks, if required.

The Mercy Hospital for Women also boasts on site paediatric, anaesthetic and theatre staff 24 hours a day.

Facilities

The facilities at the Mercy Hospital for Women are state of the art, all rooms have a private ensuite, and many have views to the Dandenongs.  Private patients have access to single rooms on the basis of their level of private insurance cover.  The Mercy has arrangements with most major health funds to minimise out of pocket expenses for the hospital admission.
