Family Mass 2019

Christmas is a celebration of peace, hope and joy, and one of the most important dates on the Christian calendar. This time of year is also a special opportunity for everyone, regardless of faith, culture or tradition, to come together with friends and family.

During the Christmas period, Mercy Health held masses and reflections across the organisation for employees, volunteers, families, residents, patients and visitors.

Mercy Place Parkville hosted a special Christmas Mass for residents and Board members with Fr Michael Elligate leading the Mass. Guests joined together to sing Christmas carols followed by lunch. A special acknowledgement of Pastoral Care Associate Florence Thomson who brought the Mass to life.

Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women guests enjoyed beautiful harmonies by our staff choir, with Mass led by Fr John Paul and Fr Mario.

Support Services staff at Richmond and Hughesdale gathered for a Christmas reflection led by Executive Director Leadership & Mission Julia Trimboli and Group Manager Leadership & Mission–Aged Care Karan Smith followed by refreshments.

Finally, thank you to the many Mercy Health staff that worked through the Christmas and New Year period. Your compassion and commitment makes all the difference to the people we serve in our health services, aged care homes and in the community.

With this special Christmas video message from Fr Michael, may you all have a safe and peaceful Christmas.
