International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) is globally recognised and celebrated on 8 March. The day celebrates the social, political, economic and cultural achievements of women and promotes a call to action that encourages gender equality. The 2022 theme is Break the Bias. It emphasises the importance of working together in creating a world free of gender bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

Mercy Health celebrated International Women’s Day with an inspiring panel interview featuring Bank First Chief Executive Officer Michelle Bagnall and Western United Football Club Women’s Football Integration Manager Amanda Stella, hosted by Executive Director Mission Leadership Cathy Jenkins. Both interviewees have fascinating insights about how they are continuing to break the bias in their workplaces.
