Pram Jam 2016

It’s a harrowing fact that one in 130 pregnancies in Australia ends in stillbirth, and the number of babies tragically lost at birth each year exceeds the national road toll.

It’s a harrowing fact that one in 130 pregnancies in Australia ends in stillbirth, and the number of babies tragically lost at birth each year exceeds the national road toll.

Around the world, a baby dies from prematurity every 30 seconds – and according to the World Health Organization, premature birth is the number one killer of children aged under five.

We want to change these statistics but we need your help!

Mercy Health Foundation is calling on mothers, fathers, grandparents, family and friends to grab a pram and pound the pavement in November as part of Pram Jam, a new fundraising initiative to help bring mums and bubs home safely.

Simply pledge to push your pram, walk or run any distance during the week from Monday 21 November to Sunday 27 November 2016 and ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you online.

No pram? No problem! You can donate to a Pram Jam participant, or track your own walking or running distance over the course of a week and ask others to donate.

With every step you take, you’ll be raising much needed funds to help prevent stillbirth and complications from bubs being born prematurely.
