As part of the Victorian Government’s Anzac Centenary program (2014-2018) a free community roadshow will visit Mercy Place East Melbourne on Tuesday 1 March at 3.00pm.

The roadshow, which includes storytelling, live theatre performances, video, and interactive content will be attended by the Member for Melbourne, Ellen Sandell, and Victorian State President of the Returned and Services League, Major General David McLachlan.

The roadshow demonstrates the challenges and sacrifices soldiers, their families, nurses, doctors and Red Cross members went through during the First World War. It will also provide information to residents and their family members about how to research their local area’s contribution to the war.

Everyone who attends the roadshow will received an Anzac Centenary Commemoration Information Pack, which contains a brief history of Victoria’s contribution to the war effort, profiles of Victoria Cross recipients and a small token of remembrance.
