Mental health services for Maribyrnong transition from Mercy Health to Western Health

  • Read in 1 minute

The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System has changed how mental health care is delivered. This includes providing services which better align to Local Government Areas (LGAs), helping people get the care they need closer to home.

Therefore, from 1 April, Western Health will become the new Area Mental Health and Wellbeing services provider for consumers who reside in the Maribyrnong LGA. These services will continue to be provided out of the Saltwater Clinic in Footscray.

Mercy Health will remain the Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provider for consumers in the Hobsons Bay and Wyndham LGAs.

In-person consultation with Hobsons Bay and Wyndham consumers will be held at Wyndham Clinic, located at 117-129 Warringa Crescent in Hoppers Crossing. Outreach and telehealth appointments will also be provided as usual.

To support consumers through this period of change, we have been working with each person and their health support network to ensure a smooth transition to Western Health or the new location at Wyndham Clinic.

We would like to thank everyone involved in this significant change process.

In summary, from 1 April:
