The Mercy Health Home & Community Care office in Young has relocated to 7 Rogan Lane to increase its presence and improve accessibility for clients.
The move coincides with Mercy Health’s 10-year anniversary in Young. As well as Home & Community Care we also provide residential aged care at Mercy Place Mount St Joseph’s and subacute care at Mercy Care Centre Young.
Mercy Health Home & Community Care Regional Service Leader Annette Berridge said the new location in Rogan Lane gives the office a street presence and allows the organisation to be a visible part of the community.
“We provide quite a lot of social support to our clients so having a central and accessible base will allow them to drop into the office whenever they’re out and about,” Ms Berridge said.
“It’s also the first time we’ve had an office which is fit for purpose so all our clients can access the building.”
To mark the official opening of the office, Mercy Health will host a lunch on Thursday 25 May with staff, local referring agencies, clients and their families.
Mercy Health Home & Community Care Young employs 31 people and helps more than 100 clients remain in their own homes in Young and the surrounding district each week.
Recent changes to legislation mean all government funded Home Care Packages are now provided to individuals rather than awarded to approved providers under an allocation process. The new process is more consumer-driven and individuals can choose their provider.
