My Maternity Journey: supporting informed choices in maternity care

  • Read in Less than a minute

When women and families have access to clear, trusted information, they are better equipped to make informed decisions, participate in conversations about their care and feel confident throughout their maternity journey.

My Maternity Journey is a new Victorian digital resource developed by Safer Care Victoria in partnership with the Department of Health. It brings together trusted information, evidence-based guidance and practical tools to support women and families throughout pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period.

The online resource provides easy access to information about each stage of the maternity journey, helping women and families understand what to expect, explore available care options and prepare for important conversations with their healthcare team.

By bringing information together in one accessible location, My Maternity Journey supports women and families to make informed decisions and take an active role in their care. The resource is designed to help people feel more informed, connected and supported throughout pregnancy and early parenting.

Developed through consultation with women, families, clinicians, community organisations and subject matter experts, the resource combines lived experience with clinical expertise to ensure it reflects the needs and preferences of those who use it.
