Werribee Mercy Hospital Christmas Fair

  • Read in 1 minute

The Werribee Mercy Hospital Christmas Fair is fast approaching and Wyndham residents are encouraged to save the date: Saturday 26 November.

The Werribee Mercy Hospital Fair was first held in 1994 and regularly thereafter for almost 16 years. It was introduced again in 2015 and warmly embraced by staff, patients and residents.

Mercy Health Chief Executive – Health Services Linda Mellors said this year the fair will take on a Christmas theme and include festive gift stalls, children’s activities, an animal farm, various food trucks and even a visit from Santa.

“We know that November is a busy time for families so the fair will provide the perfect place for people to stock up on Christmas gifts and entertain the kids,” Dr Mellors said.

“As an added incentive, all money raised from the day will go towards the hospital’s expansion. This upgrade will benefit the entire community and include eight critical care beds, 56 inpatient beds and six operating theatres.”

The Victorian Government allocated $85 million to Werribee Mercy Hospital in the 2015-16 State Budget. The Werribee Hospital Foundation is working with Mercy Health to raise an additional $2 million to support the much-needed upgrade.

The Werribee Mercy Hospital Christmas Fair will run from 11am until 4pm on Saturday 26 November at the Victorian University Werribee campus in Hoppers Lane, Werribee. Entry is free and ride wristbands will be available for purchase on the day.

Local businesses interested in sponsoring the fair or donating goods or services are encouraged to email werribeefair@mercy.com.au before the end of October.

The Werribee Mercy Hospital Christmas Fair is proudly sponsored by Catholic Super, Bank Vic and Barry Plant. The fair is also supported by a $1000 grant from the Manor Lakes Community Fund.
