Mercy Health to host community drop-in session for retirement living development

  • Read in 1 minute

Mercy Health has submitted a planning application to the City of Greater Bendigo to develop more than 150 Retirement Living Units in Golden Square during the next decade.

The development is currently being considered by council and Mercy Health would like to take this opportunity to invite the Bendigo community to a drop-in information session. The event will be held at Mercy Health Bethlehem Home for the Aged at 36-42 Specimen Hill Road, Bendigo on Thursday 22 September from 3pm until 7pm.

Mercy Health Chief Executive Aged and Community Care, Kevin Mercer, said the drop-in session will enable residents with questions about the development to view plans, meet the team, and speak with local council.

“This is an opportunity for neighbours or interested parties to find out more about this exciting proposal for Bendigo,” Mr Mercer explained.

“Mercy Health has close to a 20-year history with the city and is looking forward to bringing retirement living solutions to the area as the population ages.”

Mercy Health’s Retirement Living Unit development is planned to be completed in eight stages over 10 years and includes a community centre, walking paths and landscaping featuring existing native trees.

Residents can attend the drop-in session for as little or as long as they would like. Alternatively, anyone with questions about Mercy Health’s Bendigo Retirement Living Units can email informationBHA@mercy.com.au or call 5440 8200.
