Kindness helps care happen – violence is never ok

Mercy Health has launched a new campaign aimed at addressing occupational violence and aggression, making it clear to residents, patients, visitors and staff that this behaviour is never acceptable in our sites and encouraging reporting of any incidents.

Bold new posters will be displayed at Mercy Health hospitals, residential aged care homes and services, communicating these important messages and reminding everyone that aggression, abuse or violence will not be tolerated. By working together, we can keep our spaces safe for everyone.

The campaign launch coincides with World Day for Safety and Health at Work, marked annually on 28 April by the International Labour Organisation and this year focusing on the psychosocial working environment.

Organisational practices are a key aspect of healthy everyday working conditions, and Mercy Health believes in caring for our staff first, so that they can care for others. Experiencing occupational violence or aggression is not a part of the job, and it’s not acceptable.
