Consumer Advisory Comittee

The Mercy Health Community Advisory Committee (CAC) provides strategic advice from a consumer, carer and community perspective to help Mercy Health better understand and respond to the needs of the communities we serve.

Established in 2011, the Mercy Health Community Advisory Committee (CAC) operates across Mercy Health’s Health Services, Aged Care and Home & Community Care divisions. The CAC meets every two months at our Support Services office in Richmond, Victoria, with regional and interstate members participating via videoconference.

The CAC consists of consumer advisors as well as our Group Chief Executive Officer; Group Executive Director, Quality, Risk & Service Improvement; and members of the Consumer Participation and Experience team. The CAC reports to Mercy Health’s Board Quality Committee and is chaired by a consumer advisor.

The CAC is responsible for outlining Mercy Health’s Community Engagement Plan, which outlines key priorities and activities to further develop and strengthen our partnerships with those for whom we care and our community. The CAC regularly analyses and reviews Mercy Health performance data, organisation-wide planning activities (such as the Strategic Plan or Community Engagement Plan), projects and improvement initiatives.
